Just trying to make lists of what to bring next week. We were spoiled with the high temps last Jan so am digging out all the warm stuff. But footwear?
All my boots have heels (fine by night but not for trekking around the city), my flats are too open and sneakers will get wet. So what do you guys wear?
Don%26#39;t own any Ugg type things, should I make them an early purchase if it snows?

Honestly, I would wait til you get here than waste precious packing space with a huge pair of snow boots. Because of the warm weather, such footwear is not exactly blowing out of stores. So a lot of places have marked them down rather cheaply. (..and they still aren%26#39;t selling.) Worst case scenario, we get a blizzard, you run to a sporting goods store and buy a pair of boots.

Good advice, cbcito. If we do get some sort of storm worthy of boots, I%26#39;d reco getting a pair with treads, not flat soles.
I wouldn%26#39;t worry about it. Even when it snows, the city sidewalks are cleared off pretty quickly.
Ditto the last post. You will see most office workers wearing sneakers or Merrells or any old pair of shoes they don%26#39;t mind getting mucked up. Most people bring a pair of shoes to change into, or they keep their good shoes at the office.
