Best place to have a Chicken Caesar Salad?

Odd question I know, (and there will probably be a few more before our trip in March), but where in NY would you say does the best proper Chicken Caesar Salad? And roughly how much does it cost?

Best place to have a Chicken Caesar Salad?

Hmmm...

Since that%26#39;s a very common lunch dish, found on many menues, I%26#39;d recommend Rosie O%26#39;Grady%26#39;s in the theater district. It won%26#39;t break the bank and they make a good ceaser salad.

Best place to have a Chicken Caesar Salad?

I hope you%26#39;re not just coming to NYC for Caesar chicken salad!

The City is known for a lot more interesting cuisine!

Very odd query - there are thousands of restaurants, cafes, dining spots that might serve Ccs; what%26#39;s your point?

I did notice the first two responses to be rather tongue in cheek.

I would hope your future questions will be of more pertinent substance.

It%26#39;s not an odd question. I like them, too, and would like to know. the better places to find them. It%26#39;s true that they are on practically everyone%26#39;s menu nowadays, but in my experience it%26#39;s difficult to find a good one. They tend to throw some cold chicken on a drowning in dressing ';caesar'; salad that wasn%26#39;t that good to begin with. I think the best idea is to find a place that makes a good proper caesar salad, then ask for it with chicken. They run $10-$15, possibly more at a high-end place.

Yeah, I didn%26#39;t take offense either, because I like them too.

So where is this international house of chicken caeser salad then!?

Bit of a harsh posting above, you see lots of posts on various forums looking for certain types of foods - this is what keeps these forums so fresh and interesting!

Personally one of the things I am looking forward to when we come over is a russian roast beef panini - i had one everyday for breakfast when I came in 2003 and they were lush - never had one over here, never seen one for sale either! Mind you - it was so big I had to share with my partner so we could still have lunch and dinner in some fab places and can honestly say we did not have one bad meal!

didn%26#39;t have chicken caeser mind.........................!

I get the regular caesar salad, but when it%26#39;s done well there%26#39;s nothing better. I really can%26#39;t think of a place where one stands out (except a place in Bay Ridge, and it%26#39;s not so great as to schlep to southern Brooklyn). By and large, most ';American'; places have that as a menu item (most pubs seem to as well) and most do it pretty well. I personally like a lighter dressing, but I know people who like it heavier, so tastes are different. I would choose that as a starter and then be more adventurous with the main course.

I don%26#39;t think this is a weird question either. My sister is a really picky eater and she normally just orders caesar salads when she goes out.

She says that Maria Pia has the best she%26#39;s ever eaten.

Who rattled your cage Ednoo?

Of course I am not just coming to NY for a Chicken Caesar Salad. That would be ridiculous.

My wife has been twice before to New York as her Auntie and Uncle stay there, however this is my first visit, and she tells me they are better there than I will ever have tasted. Therefore, I was keen on finding out the best places that serve them are to avoid me being disappointment.

I will be sampling various other cuisines over the 12 nights we are there if that is acceptable to you?

*Off to think of questions of more substance*

I think of Florida as the place for chicken caesar salads...

Call me snarky, but I thought it was a strange post too. Aside from the fact that taste varies, there are many variables to consider when judging the caesar salad: the whole dilemma of anchovies/non anchovies; raw egg vs no raw egg; bottled dressing vs dressing made in the bowl in front of you.

This is a place where some will post Tavern on the Green and that Ellen%26#39;s place are the best things known to man - while others of us say they suck! Taste is not common.
