where do i start

my mother and i are heading to new york the second week of feb for 5 days, we want to get in some shopping and sightseeing, we are staying on lexington ave. Can you suggest things that we could do and where to go. I owuld like to pre-purchase or pre book tickets before we leave to help advoid queues. Also what shows are currently showing on broadway and what site do you reccommend that we book our tickets from.

Hi H/b, I am heading myself in the second week in feb, from past experience the queues are not that long, also there is a great discount on the tickets at the ticket box on times square, I would only recommend pre-booking if there is a specific show you would like to see..... IMO.... Is this your first time in New York.... If so make the best of your time... there is so much to do as it is the city that never sleeps.....
