I%26#39;m looking to go to an upscale restaurant this weekend sat or sun night (13 or 14) with a group of 5 people. Any suggestions? Thanks!

classy NYC restaurant with last min reservations availableBudget isn%26#39;t really an issue. I%26#39;m not looking for something REALLY upscale, just maybe somewhere to have a nice dinner, not just another restaurant. We are staying near Grand Central, so anywhere within a 10 mile radius I suppose. Any type of food, italian or american preferred..thai too...thanks!
Near GCT on 41st and and 2nd Avenue, right on the corner,CIBO, very nicespot - had lunch there just after the Christmas show at Radio City and just made a reservation for this Sunday evening.
Check out their website www.cibonyc.com.
They offer an ala carte and a prix fixe dinner menu,
The service was very personal, unobtrusive, professional and the food very good.

I have good luck with OpenTable.com - it%26#39;s a fun site to get registered on and you can use it for any city to make reservations. They let you plug in the time you want, the number of people, and you can see what%26#39;s available and the general cost of things.
Second checking on opentable. Great way to see what%26#39;s out there. I really like Cibo, more upscale would be L%26#39;Impero also not too far away and one of NYC%26#39;s finest italian reastaurants featuring homemade pasta. Very pretty also.
I would check with Lever House and see if they have a table. Excellent food/service, gorgeous room. Ask them if 5 will fit in a booth (I think so, but maybe the round tables on the floor would be more comfortable). 53rd just west of Park in the landmark building with same name.
This is where I take top clients who dont spend enough to get invited to per se.
L%26#39;Impero is also excellent.
If you want steak, BLT Steak on 57th just east of Park is excellent. Another spot everyone I bring loves.
All good suggestions. Have a look at the Water Club. It would require a taxi, but nice views, good food and often overlooked.
I love opentable.com, I use it constantly.
I%26#39;ve not been yet to English is Italian, but my foodie friend loves it and I trust his opinion. Their food is meant for sharing, so it%26#39;s a perfect choice for a group of five. L%26#39;Impero is an excellent suggestion.
I also like the Brasserie.
