Radio City Aparments - Have I messed up?

My girlfriend loves a nice hotel. She doesn%26#39;t mind other places and because of this took much of the advice on this forum and booked the aforementioned accommodation.

However, I am now beginning to worry that I%26#39;ve messed up. If you were to compare this accommodation with a Hotel - how would it stack up. If I%26#39;m to be honest the pictures that I%26#39;ve seen don%26#39;t fill me with confidence.

I need to be told I%26#39;ve done the right thing!

Radio City Aparments - Have I messed up?

Hi kezza, this is just my personal opinion, I have stayed at RCA twice and have booked again for Nov 07 I also like nice hotels but to be very honst I love having extra money to spend in NYC. RCA is clean and safe also close to everything with great subway access. You could spend twice maybe even 3 times as much on a ';nice'; hotel but how much time are you going to spend in the room when you have so much to do in the city ;o) Elaine

Well, it IS a hotel; however, it is by no means meant for luxury. If you want a bellman, room service, mints on the pillow, etc., then this is not the place for you...

RCA is clean and nicely furnished with plently of room. It is ideally centered and perfect if you%26#39;re headed to the theater or for most sightseeing. I loved it in April and can%26#39;t wait to stay there again in March. Have a great trip!

RCA is also in primo location. If you really need your hotel fix, there are plenty of lobbies and lounges in the immediate area that you can explore.

Thanks guys - it sounds perfect - thanks for the reassurance.

Can I be honest though - doesn%26#39;t always look that clean in the photo%26#39;s!!

I am very luck to being going next month too, staying in the Doubletree metropolitan - will be good to compare.

We%26#39;re looking at this hotel for July but I can%26#39;t find out if they have a/c. Does anyone know?

I emailed them direct this morning and go an instant reply - might be your best bet

Anniebee yeah they do have aircon we were there in October and used it alot!

I%26#39;ve booked a studio apartment based purely on recommendations and reviews on TA. I know exactly what you meant though as I wasn%26#39;t overly impressed with the pictures but I%26#39;ve trusted my fellow travellers.

I too like nice hotels but after discussing it with my hubby we decided that as it%26#39;s our first visit we certainly won%26#39;t be spending much time at %26#39;base%26#39; anyway and would rather thave the extra cash for food and sightseeing.

Hiya Kezza,

While I%26#39;ve never stayed at the RCA, I do agree with everyone that unless you are on a Honeymoon were %26#39;luxe accomodations are part of the mood, I%26#39;d always go for the cheaper alternative and use the saved money on having a good time. It%26#39;s amazing just how many ways you can find to spend money in NYC.

I always stay at The Hotel New Yorker Ramada when I stay in NYC. People always rag on it, but I always get great deals and the money I save I use for club hopping or shopping.

I%26#39;d be interested in hearing your opinion of the RCA when you return from your holiday.

Cheers,

Dev

I%26#39;ll be there on Saturday and will make sure I get pics of the rooms I%26#39;m in (staying in 2 different ones - first 3 nights in a room for 3 and then the next 5 nights in a room for 2)
