There%26#39;s no more excuse to go to Applebee, TGI, Red Lobster or any fast food joints.

I%26#39;ve always had very good experiences during Restaurant Weeks. I highly recommend trying one or two places out. But you should def make rezzies for big names and hot spots, or prepare to eat at 5 pm!

There are some very interesting places on this list. To see a full list and make a reservation online check out opentable.com. Some places although good, have special lunch/dinner prix fixe menues so places like 21 Club and Artisanal, I am not going to mention. Oops I just did.
When you arrive make sure to tell the server you are there for the restaurant week special.
One of the best deals, in my opinion is The River Cafe, lunch only. For $24.07 what a great way to dine in a lovely restaurant with a sweeping view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan.
Other restaurant week choices that caught my eye on opentable:
Lunch or dinner:
Butter- Hip, trendy, a P. Diddy hangout.
Chinatown Brasserie - Upscale dim sum
I Trulli - Italian
Jo Jo- A Jean George Vongerichten spot located in a townhouse
Megu and Megu Downtown - Upscale Japanese
Perry Street - Another Jean Georges place
Vong- Yet another Jean Georges place
Spice Market, - Okay, one more Jean Georges place
Lunch only:
The three NY landmarks: Gotham Bar and Grill, Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe.
Eleven Madison Park - Foodies are really humming about this place now that chef Daniel Humm is at the Helm. NYT food critic gave it 3* recently
Chanterelle
dburke and Donatella
Asiate
Telepan (FOR BETTINA)
Dinner only:
The Bar Room at the Modern- This place located at the Museum of Modern Art also got a 3* rating from NYT food critic Frank Bruni, the same day as Eleven Madison Park did. Frnak LOVED it! Ironically, the Bar Room got 3* while the main restaurant, the Modern has previously only earned 2*. Do not be turned off at the word ';Bar Room'; because it ain%26#39;t one! This is is serious eating but more casual.
