I%26#39;m heading over on Wednesday, so I%26#39;ll be there on the 15th. To be honest with you, I hadn%26#39;t even realised till recently that I was there when it was Martin Luther King day. Anyway, looking at the About.com page about it here:
鈥bout.com/od/鈥lkdaynyc.htm
They mention a parade on 5th Ave from 61st to 86th streets. Just wondering if anyone%26#39;s been to one in the past. Is it a big event? Is it worth going to?
Martin Luther King jnr Day - question
Never been to it. Most parades, besides St Patrick%26#39;s Day which is a big drink fest, are pretty similar. If it%26#39;s nice weather, it could be worth seeing
Martin Luther King jnr Day - question
yeah i think that is what I%26#39;ll do - see what the weather is like first! If it%26#39;s a decent day I may have a wonder up there.
FYI, schools and banks and most govt buildings are closed, but that should not affect your sightseeing, except the increase in kiddies. Most museums that are typically open on Mondays will be open, but some may have fewer staff.
thanks for that queens.
I%26#39;ve not planned to do much that Monday. See how the mood takes me. Always good to have an unplanned day :-D
