Statue of Liberty

Should I purchase the tickets online to go to the top or can I wait until I get there? Is it worth the waiting to go to the top?

Statue of Liberty

You can%26#39;t go to the top anymore -- not since 9/11.

And I believe that you can only buy tickets in advance -- not day of (I may be wrong).

However, the museum at the base of the statue is very, very interesting. Not only does it give the history of the statue, they display original models and full scale, exact replicas of the face and of a foot, that you can touch, lean on etc. I urge you to do it unless you just don%26#39;t like that sort of thing.

I don%26#39;t know what lines are like this time of year, but as a rule the lines to get into SOL are very long due to the extraordinary security -- tighter than an airport screening. Many people, therefor, recommend taking the first boat out in the morning

Also, the same boat that takes you to SOL also takes you to Ellis Island which is a wonderful museum.

So, I think it%26#39;s worth it.
