Trying to pick hotel in late March. Would Times Square be very noisy in comparison to Central Park area. First time to New York. Want to get good nights sleep.
Best area to stay ----central park or times square?
I am not sure what you mean by the ';Central Park area';. Central Park is two and a half miles long and half a mile wide, and divides the Upper East and Upper West sides of manhattan. Fifth Avenue, Central Park South, and Central Park West are all adjacent to it.
Times Square is about as noisy as Manhattan gets.
There are other neighborhoods in Manhattan where hotels can be found. Have you looked at a map yet, or read a guide book to determine what neighborhood may be the type you are alooking for?

It depends what you want. If you dont mind a bit of noise and want to be in the centre on things then Times Square. If you want a more peaceful place where you dont mind being further away from the centre then Central Park.
Personally I would choose Central Park. The hotel Im going to be staying at is on 79th Street on the Upper West Side. I will see loads of TImes Square but I probably wouldnt visit the UWS, so its given me a chance to see a neighbourhood I wouldnt have seen had I been staying in Times Square.
First, the southern end of CP and TS are not that far from each other.
Second, some hotels near Central Park can be noisier (b/c of old windows, low floors and garbage pick up trucks) than some in TS.
While the question you ask sounds simple, it%26#39;s really not. It would be better to pick a few hotels you think fit your budget and then ask specifics (or read reviews here) about those individual hotels. You really can%26#39;t make generalizations by area.
