Top of the Rock - Day or night viewing

I am travelling to nyc in a few weeks and want to visit Top of the Rock. Not sure if to go for a day or night viewing? Anyone gota any experience. Some people say sunset but when is that in nyc at this time of year?

I love the daytime view from Top of the Rock, especially of Central Park.

I would recommend daytime (if you aren%26#39;t sure of the dusk hours) that way you can see Central Park.

But if I were you--I%26#39;d find out when dusk was exactly and head there then

I want to go at dusk. I thought buying a ticket for 5pm would be okay? Because you%26#39;re allowed to stay up there for as long as you want, can%26#39;t you?

You can stay up there as long as you want, but it might be better to time your visit just before sunset so you can get the best of both worlds - that%26#39;s what we did on our visit and it was wonderful.

Happymeal I have checked and sunset is at 16.56 on the days we will be there which is 18th - 22nd Jan. One of the above messages gives you the internet address to check. If thats the case it may be worth you getting up there about 4.30 if you can change it.
