tkts-discount broadway tickets

When%26#39;s the best time to stand in line for these discounted tickets? I%26#39;m planning on going to the one at the South Street seaport (hopefully shorter lines since it%26#39;s not as well know as the one in Times Square).

Any particular show in mind? You may do better printing out the offer from www.playbill.com or www.theatermania.com and going directly to the box office, if they offer that discount. This way, you save time, can use your credit card %26amp; pick your seats.

I really don%26#39;t think it matters when you get there, plan it around your itinerary. Here is the information for both booths.

Keep in mind they will be closed Sundays beginning January 21st.

I think the time of year determines how long the lines are, they are not bad at all during the winter.

www.broadwaybox.com has some fantastic discounts at the moment too.

We got in the queue at about 10.30 am on Friday 29 Dec 2006 and we got the tickets we wanted for How the Grinch stole Christmas. I think if you get there about 10.15 - 10.30, that is a good time at the Seaport site.

hi...we were there last week...

we lined up for discounted theatre tickets at 2:40.(in times square)...and were done by 3:20...the line looks huge, but it moves very quickly....there are lots of tickets to the shows....

Thank you everyone!! I%26#39;ve lived in NYC all my life and never tried TKTS (always bought them online). There%26#39;s no particular show I want to see... just hope not to spend more that 40 bucks if i%26#39;m going to stand in line:)

our ';mamma mia'; tickets were 60 dollars each....

guess it depends which show you decide on..good luck...ciao

Most broadway shows, unless they%26#39;re in the deep dark recesses of the theatre, will cost you $45-85 at TKTS. The discounts are 25 to 50 percent and the only times I%26#39;ve ever paid under $40 were for Off-Broadway.

You%26#39;re right! I did see Stomp last night but I saved by using the paper coupon/discount from schooltix.com. You can go to any library, school, or teaching facility. TKTS had the ticket for about $41 (including their fee) schooltix.com had it for $30.
