is it worth going to the waldorf astoria?

Is is worth going to the astoria%26#39;s peacock alley for a lovely meal? or is it just the kind of place that tourists now go to and it lives on the name? the menu looks pretty expensive, which i dont mind paying if the food is good and the surroundings are sumptuous.

i like the look of the restaurants at the st regis, but cant find anything about the dinner menu. does anyone know what the food will be like. i%26#39;m hoping the menu is not all fish and fois gras!
