Help wanted fellow trip advisors!!!!!
We are coming to New York to celebrate my wife%26#39;s 60th birthday for 5 nights arriving Nov 6th staying until Nov 11th and then going on a Carribean cruise for 12 nights.
I have the following 3 hotels to choose and can%26#39;t make up my mind which to go for!!
Casablanca 拢1100 - includes b/fast and cheese %26amp; wine evenings
Holiday Inn Express 5th Ave 拢831 - room only
Comfort Inn Midtown - 拢750 - includes b/fast
Any suggestions would be most welcome!!
hotel help please - deperate!!!!!!
Of those threes I would eliminate the Comfort Inn.
Are you sure the HIE does not include breakfast? Rooms are smallish, but nice there.
Casablanca would be very nice.
Are those your only options? Do you have months to decide or no? Can you make a cancellable reservation now and check out other possibilities or do you need to lock in solid?
hotel help please - deperate!!!!!!
Thanks for your swift reply Voyagereuse!!
We would like to get something booked provisionally and then probably check travelzoo a couple of weeks before and see if we could get Sofitel ot Affinia 50 at a reasonable price.
Everything that particular week is expensive - is there something special happening?
H.Inn doesn%26#39;t include breakfast but that doesn%26#39;t bother us.
Just wondered if it is worth the extra 拢250 difference to stay at the Casablanca.
Also we are going to have to get the the Cape Liberty Port on Nov 11th and return to JFK on 23rd November - any ideas as to whether it would be better to take a cab or book a taxi?
I agree that of those 3 I%26#39;d go with the Casablanca, but those prices sound outrageous. (Where are you getting these prices?)
Right now you can book the Michelangelo (which imo is a nicer hotel than the Casablanca) for $295/night on quikbook.com This doesn%26#39;t include tax, but with tax, the total for 5 nights would be around 863 GBP for the 5 nights. I believe they include a continental breakfast. That%26#39;s cancellable. I%26#39;d scoop it up. You can keep looking to find something cheaper if you want.
If the Cape Liberty Port is in New Jersey as I suspect, you%26#39;re best booking a car service (you can%26#39;t book a taxi) for the trip. I like
limores.net
Book them again to pick you up and take you to JFK.

This is the price direct from the Casablanca!!!
Thanks for you info about a car
Will try quickbook
Thanks
Thanks a miilion nywhiz!!!!
I%26#39;ve just looked at the Michaelangelo on Quickbook and it is $295 per night plus taxes which I believe are around 13.50%?
That still makes it cheaper than the Casablanca and I am going to book it and cancel if I should find something cheaper (but not as nice1) nearer the time.
Thanks again
Can you check hotel rates on Expedia.com?? I just stayed at the Salisbury which is at 57th and 7th Ave. It is an older hotel, but the rooms are large and you get free breakfast through Expedia. I%26#39;m not sure of the price as I didn%26#39;t book it, but I thought it was pretty reasonable. How about Park Central??
Nywhiz
Have booked The Michaelangelo at $295 on Quickbook which is a steal!!!!
It looks wonderful, so many, many thanks for your info.
Also do you know of any events in NY between 6th and 11th Nov?
