We are planning a trip to NYC around the Easter period, possibly including the Easter weekend (6-8 April). I%26#39;ve read on the internet that some of the restaurants close over this weekend. Can anyone please tell me if the shops are closed as well? Many thanks.

Was going to ask something similar so I%26#39;ll ';bump'; this instead.... My family and I are going over Easter Weekend but we are fairly confident most places will be open, I don%26#39;t think their hours are restricted in anyway like ours here in the UK.

A lot more will be open than on Christmas. I%26#39;m pretty sure all the dept stores would be open as well as chain stores.
Many restaurants will be open. I don%26#39;t think it will be as limited as Christmas...
Unfortunately, I dont remember a lot of what happened last Easter!
Some shops close on Easter Sunday, but many are open and everything will be open on Fri and Sat. Restaurants in general don%26#39;t close except maybe some of the smaller Mom and Pop places on Sun. only. Lots of restaurants do EAster lunch/brunch or dinner.
... and Easter Monday is not a holiday of any kind.
