The Beacon or On The Ave?

Coming next week to see Regis and Kelly...only need to stay one night...seeing great rates at both hotels...which one is nicer? Anyone ever been to either???

The Beacon or On The Ave?

On the Ave is nicer, but rooms reported to be quite small. Beacon is more of a good family budget hotel.

Have friends that stayed at both and neither had any complaints.. On the Ave may be a bit more upscale providing a bit more personal attention.. room they had was, I believe, a jr suite as it was pretty roomy...The Beacon as well is a great choice smack on Broadway next to the #1and #2 express train stop at 72nd Street taking you directly to 42nd St. (only 1 stop on the Express)....for the one night would go w/the better rate...Have a great time and Enjoy!

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Beacon a couple times and loved it - nice size rooms (we had a 1-bed suite with full kitchenette), nice bathrooms, good water pressure. The location is great - across the street from the Fairway Market, 2 blocks from the subway and Central Park. My only recommendation is that you get a room as high up as possible because of the street noise on Broadway - it%26#39;s great fun to look down and watch all the people walk by, but the 12th floor was quite noisy all night long where as we heard almost nothing on the 24th. Great value for the money.
