Planning the next trip already

I think my husband finally realised how much I love New York. We were heading back to the airport to leave New York on January 4th and a few tears appeared in my eyes - how bad is that?! He got home from work last night and suggested we start planning our next trip for November/December this year!! I can%26#39;t wait!

Can%26#39;t make my mind up which weekend to come - it%26#39;s probably gonna be November 24th or December 1st - any thoughts?

Thanks

If you came 24th would that mean you were here for Thanksgiving (sorry dont have my calander to check).....that might mean hotel might be more expensive and the like. If you left it til the 1st and were coming for 5 nights or so you%26#39;d see the tree lighting at the Rock I think......

Thanks for that

I was wondering if we might clash with Thanksgiving. Think we%26#39;ll probably go with December 1st - hopefully it%26#39;ll be a bit cheaper for us!

manicsfan - you might even want to rethink the first week of December as the first two weeks are the busiest and more costly. I don%26#39;t know what your hotel budget will be but expect at least $300 plus a night.

When I was checking prices for hotels to celebrate my 40th birthday in the city I found that the weekend after Thanksgiving was actually a little cheaper - but we actually had to go with the first weekend in December.

The great thing about coming to NYC in December is it is decorated for Christmas and just a beautiful time to enjoy the city!! Have fun planning!

Thanks for the reply

I%26#39;m not even back at work yet after our Christmas/New Year trip to NYC but I called them today to find out what holidays are available. November is already booked up so I have to rule that out. Looks like our trip will have to be during the first 2 weeks in December. Our hotel budget is around $420-$450 per night so hopefully we should find something reasonable for that.

I really wanted to book it this weekend but not all the hotels have dates available yet - some only go up to end of November at the moment

The first 2 wks. of Dec. are very expensive. Consider coming later in the month, after the 18th. Do you know where you want to stay?

Hi nywhiz

Thanks for your reply.

After December 18th is a little too close to Christmas and I wouldn%26#39;t be able to get the time off work - especially as I took over 3 weeks off in 2006 for our Christmas/New Year trip!

Ideally I%26#39;d like to stay at The Waldorf again but it seems it%26#39;s a little too early to book with them. We%26#39;ve stayed at The Roosevelt before which was fine so may consider staying there again. We like being close to Grand Central really.

t%26#39;s all booked!

December 1st for 4 nights at The Roosevelt - can%26#39;t wait!
