Hi,
My husband is from Vineland, NJ and we plan on driving from JFK airport to Vineland for a few days (on February 8th).
My husband says the drive will probably be 3-4 hours, my grandpa (who lived in Berkeley Heights, NJ for 20 years and drove all over the East Coast) said 1.5 hours, and mapquest says 2.5 hours.
Has anyone actually done this? Can anyone with an objective view weigh in?
Thank you very much!

JFK-South Jersey?
You have to tell us what time of day. Distance-wise it isn%26#39;t that far but you are driving in an urban area so you won%26#39;t be driving as fast as if you were in the countryside. Leaving Kennedy at 3:45PM and heading to New Jersey could take three hours if you have bad luck. At 3:45AM you might do it in less than two hours, time of day is important information, Feb. 8 is a Thursday if I%26#39;m not mistaken, its not a weekend, there will be AM and PM rush hour
JFK-South Jersey?
Yvette: It is really impossible to say. Your toughest drive is on the Belt Parkway, no maybe the Garden State Parkway, no wait the New Jersey Turnpike, get the picture. If there is an accident on any of these roads or it rains or it snows, day or night, you will spend a fair amount of time getting there.
I tried a case in Bridgeton, NJ (near Vineland) and the problem was less the distance than the quality of the roads. It just takes a long time to get that far into Cumberland County.
I would guess that with typical traffic in the New York area (I know, I know, what is typical, but bear with me) you are between 2.5 and 3.0 hours to Vineland. And with all due respect to your Grandpa, the traffic through out NJ has increased so much of late that I can not imagine anyway that it will take only 1.5 hours. I live a full hours drive from Vineland in New Jersey. You would pass within 5 miles of my house if you go by way of the NJ Turnpike and it takes me 1.5 hours to get to JFK with no traffic.
Maybe not the answer you were hoping for, but it is the best I can do! Moms
Hi,
I%26#39;ll be leaving around 4-5pm (suicide, i know!).

PS: Grandpa is also a ';pedal to the metal'; type of Grandpa, so that explains a little, I guess. :)
Pedal to the metal is of absolutey no help at all at that time of day!!
