Hi,
I have to drop off a rental car at JFK (return time is Friday 5pm) and then I have to get to Carnegie Hall for an 8pm show. Can anyone tell me what the most economical, yet least stressful, way to do this would be? (train, subway, bus, taxi...I%26#39;m so lost!)
Thank you!

JFK-Carnegie Hall?
Will you have luggage? Rental car return is not at the terminals, it is its own stop on the AirTrain so it makes getting into town particularly easy (especially without luggage).
You can take the JFK Airtrain to Jamaica from Federal Circle (Rental car drop off). Get the E train at Jamaica to 53rd / 7th Avenue. You could also change to the R train at Queens Plaza (cross platform transfer) and the R will take you right to the doorstep of Carnegie Hall.
VERY EASY. $7.00 The trip will take one hour (I did the trip from Grand Central to speaking to the gate agent at my gate at JFK in 65 minutes - cleared security, walked from one Terminal to another Terminal).
Taxi will cost $45.00 plus tip and toll, you%26#39;d have to go the Terminal to get the taxi and then you%26#39;d sit in traffic. Take the JFK AirTrain to Jamaica unless you have three tons of luggage.
JFK-Carnegie Hall?
I agree. The AirTrain-subway combo is great and economical.Plus, you%26#39;ll be going against rush hour. Once you get on the AirTrain, should take an hour, give or take.
I also agree AirTrain/subway is the quickest/cheapest option BUT not the least stressful (imo) Returning a car at 5 pm on a Fri. to JFK and then having to go back to the city is.....just a terrible idea. Can you drop it off earlier?
hi.
i might be able to return it around 3-4.
thank you for all your help!
