Hotels near JFK

Can someone suggest decent hotels to stay near JFK for one night? I have a early morning flight. Thank you!

Sad to say most of the JFK hotels are pretty awful. If you%26#39;re coming in from somewhere else and just passing thru JFK, pick the one with the best reviews here. Last I looked, the Holiday Inn Express was sounding ok. But if you%26#39;re going to be in Manhattan anyway, you might want to just stay there and take an early train or taxi from the city to the airport, depending on how early your flight. If you stay out at JFK, pay close attention to

%26gt;many of the ';free'; hotel shuttles to the airport don%26#39;t start very early. Maybe they start at 7 am. So if your flight is really early, you may need a taxi or car service anyway

%26gt;most of the hotels are not in an area where you%26#39;d want to actually walk around, so you%26#39;ll be dependent on food and services from the hotel.

Whiz is, as usual, compleely right. If your flight is enormously early (such as 6 AM), youmight as well stay in Manhattan, and take a taxi out -- there will be no traffic on the road at that hour going to JFK! If your flight is a little later, and you want to stay somewhat closer to the airport, then you might consider one of the hotels on Queens Boulevard (such as the Pan American) or even one of the hotels in downtown Flushing (such as the Sheraton) and make arrangements to go to the airport from there. Anything right at JFK, though, is not to be recommended.
