A first draft itinerary and questions.

Hey everyone, hope your all well.

So my boyfriend and I are coming to New York 18th March until the 27th. Im starting on my itinerary now because I am so excited! My boyfriend is a New York 1st timer and this will be my second trip. My boyfriend is desperate to shop, so I think it will be safe for us to do most of the sights first then shop at the end of the trip.

This is just a first draft. We will be using the subway and walking most of the time as opposed to taxis.

March 18th: Arrive in New York about 430pm. Get taxi to hotel, Park 79 on UWS. Find somewhere to have a meal then bed.

March 19th: Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero. St Pauls,

LES for Tenement Museums and Katz.

March 20th: Greenwhich Village see Carrie from SATCs stoop and Friends house, Magnolia Bakery for cupcakes, Chinatown. See a show that night.

March 21st: Times Square. Grand Central, Juniors for Cheesecake Empire State Building (probably at night/dusk) Madison Square Gardens.

March 22nd: Going through to Queens to visit a friend and go to the mall to shop.

March 23rd: Not sure yet.

March 24th: Boyfriends birthday. Go shopping, helicopter trip and meal at Foleys Fish House.

March 25th: Lunch at Grimaldis, walk Brooklyn Bridge.

March 26th: Shops! (Us Brits love to shop in New York.)

March 27th: Home.

This is just a rough draft. Any thoughts? On my last trip we didnt plan what we were doing at all and I feel like a I missed out seeing a lot. Shopping is going to be a big part of our trip. I was thinking of going to the Museum of the City of New York, where would this fit in? I was also thinking of adding in The United Nations, S*x and the City Tour, a sporting event and maybe another shows.

Thoughts please!

Thanks everyone. (this itinerary is a lot harder than I originally thought!)

I%26#39;m no good with itineraries. I just want to say congratulations on planning your return, and especially for snagging a boyfriend who loves to shop. That%26#39;s really amazing!

Yep Im lucky to have him wanting to shop. But when I ask him what he wants to do, all he says is shop! And I say, well hunny, we cant go to New York and just shop we got to see the sights too!

I was just reading trip reports and think we might do a tour bus the first day, either Party Shuttle or Greyline.

I think it looks like a good plan. I%26#39;ll just note that if you plan on actually visiting SOL, it will take some time and you should also go to Ellis Island. That will take the better part of the day.

Questions:

no theater? not even off Broadway?

no TOTR?

Museums, central park?

March 19. if you just want SOL, then take the free ferry to Staten Island, otherwise book the Ellis Island_SOL trip. Ellis Island is definitely worth it..............

march 22: What Mall. if you mean the one in Queens Center, its not that great (IMHO) and I live two subway stops from there.

March 25: Surely that%26#39;s not all......?

Museum of Modern Art has a free friday night I believe. It can be crowded, but it IS free.

Im def seeing a show! Just not decided what nights to put them in. Im hoping to see 2 shows. Is it a Monday night that the shows normally arent on? Im thinking The Producers and maybe Beauty and The Beast, or Hairspray.

Oh and TOTR too! I just hadnt decided what day to do that, but def going there.

I think for the SOL we are just going to do the Staten Island Ferry.

We are going to get a taxi from the airport to the hotel, whats the best route to ask the driver to go if there is one?

Also, our return flight is after 10 at night, whats the best time to get a taxi back to JFK? Will the hotel likely to hold our bags after check in?

Questions questions!
