You need to find all these places on a map and group them by nearness. While I could do it for you (and maybe someone else will) I think it would be more helpful if you did it yourself and got used to the lay of the land.

I actually think you can do/see all this in 6 days--although some may be more drive by than visit. You might want to consider a bus tour which will at minimum pass by all these places. The hop on/off is popular but there are also options like

nypartyshuttle.com

kingofnyc.com

The DK book should be fine if you started to read it!! It should have a good map too.

Decide which day/night you want to go to the River Cafe which is the most difficult reservation and set that up asap. rivercafe.com

You don%26#39;t need a reservation at the Carnegie and I don%26#39;t think they take them at Carmine%26#39;s for 2 (do you know portions are huge at Carmine%26#39;s and usually recommended for only a minimum of 4 hungry adults?)

The other thing on your list that needs booking in advance is the Tenement Museum.

If you want a free tour of Grand Central, they%26#39;re given on Fri%26#39;s at 12:30 pm.

We%26#39;ve had the DK one since our visit last year and haven%26#39;t bothered updating that for this year. I did get NFT and I think it%26#39;s a good reference for when you%26#39;re on the ground but not for when you%26#39;re trying to find things to do...there are no pretty pictures!

Wil let you know how we get on with it next week but I%26#39;m glad we had the DK first to get to know what we%26#39;re interested in, and of course TA!

Thanks Athtrasna

Keep us posted about your trip.

Your experience will be invaluable

have a good one

Hi

I have just got the NFT NY guide from the library, could you not do the same to save you buying another guide?

I got 4 different guides from the library and with the 2 others people have promised to lend me I don%26#39;t think I will bother buying one, problem is the books are due back the day before we come home, I must go on line and renew them today in case I forget nearer the time.
