Midtown Manhattan to NJ?

What is the least expensive %26amp; quickest way to get from Midtown Manhattan to New Jersey? Just want to go to NJ for a couple of hours or less.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Midtown Manhattan to NJ?

where exactly in NJ or did you just want to wonder around somewhere?

Midtown Manhattan to NJ?

USTraveler, New Jersey is a state. A smallish state, perhaps, but still an entire state. Your question is rather like asking ';what is the quickest way to get from Chicago to Indiana?'; or ';from St. Louis to Illinois';? The least expensive way (free, in fact) is to walk across the George Washington Bridge to go to Fort Lee -- but is that really the kind of answer you wanted?

The cheapest way to go from Manhattan to New Jersey is via the PATH TRAINS: These are subway trains that connect the 2 areas together. Info at:

panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/map.html

Once in New Jersey, you can connect to above ground trains in Newark to go to other areas of the state. Info at:

Use the following web page to deternime the route to take from Newark to your final destination.

BTW, you can also take an above ground train from PENN STATION IN MANHATTAN to NEWARK but this train will cost more than the PATH train (but is a lot more comfortable).

Have fun!
