Hi, we are Aussies and will be in New York late August.

What is the weather usually like at this time of year[eg. hot, cold]

Does NY have those %26#39;hop on. hop off%26#39; sightseeing buses?

Has anyone done the Cosmos %26#39;Trans America adventure %26#39; tour?

would welcome your comments.

Any other advice greatly appreciated.

So Ive been told there are hop on hop off buses. I will find out a week today as I will be going there for the first time, and Ive done lots of research.

Gutted as the Cosmos Tours dont run in January so I cant do it either as I hoped. so I cant help you with that one. I am sure there are reports on this site about it, so search around.

August is usually the hottest part of the summer -- although you will have to get your tempertures as Fahrenheit; none of the natives here speaks centigrade as a first language ;o)

There are several companies that have hop on/hop off buses.

I have never heard of the ';Cosmos Trans America adventure'; tour, so can%26#39;t tell you anything there.

wunderground.com has a function called trip planner at the bottom of the page. Put in your travel dates, the location and you%26#39;ll get historic temps in both C and F.

Yes there are hop on/off buses but most are open topped and you might broil up there in Aug. You might want to consider another type of bus tour in an enclosed bus with a/c.

Cosmos is a reliable company. I%26#39;ve taken tours with them in Western Europe.
