Thanks to all the great advice i%26#39;ve already gathered from your hallowed forums in helping me plan our 10 day holiday to ny in april. But now i%26#39;m after a bit of help please.
The mets have a game on sun. april 17th and we would like to visit the panorama too.We plan on getting the subway out to the area. How long does a game last? I don%26#39;t know if there will be time to see the panorama after the game or if we should see it first. Is it an easy walk between the two? Any recommendations for a pre/post game beer and any good restaurant in the area?(we will eat any type of food !).Please help!

Hooray for you!
1. The Panorama is located upstairs inside The Queens Museum. Here are their hours:
Wednesday - Friday: 10:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12:00pm - 5:00pm

It%26#39;s about a 10-minute walk from Shea through Flushing Meadow Park, admittedly - and ironically - one of NYC%26#39;s least-pedestrian friendly parks. You%26#39;ll have to walk under a highway. Yuck.
2. Baseball games run about 3 hours. I looked on the Mets schedule and noticed that the Sunday, April 15 game (not the 17th) against the Washington Nationals starts at 1:10 pm. Therefore, if you leave Shea promptly, you can squeeze in some time afterwards.

3. Dining/drinks: Frankly, this is one of the weak points of Shea stadium. Even though it is geographically in Flushing Meadow Park, it%26#39;s really in the middle of a parking lot, designed for commuters by train and car, not pedestrians.
Your best bet for fabulous food is only a couple of subway stops away! If you want some of the best and cheapest Latin or Indian/Southeast Asian food in NYC, go to Jackson Heights!!

Take the #7 train towards Manhattan to 74th Street-Broadway-Jackson Heights (Yes, every borough has it%26#39;s own street named ';Broadway';.)
My fave Indian is Taj Mahal (40-05 73rd St.) It is a few doors down from the celebrated and hyped Jackson Diner Indian Restaurant. The Jackson Diner is great, don%26#39;t get me wrong, but Taj Mahal is cheaper, just as good or better, and not a spectacle for curious Manhattanites.
I hope cbcito chimes in with Latin food recos! That%26#39;s not my strong suit.
Let%26#39;s go, Mets!
