Ok...here%26#39;s the skinny....came to NYC in October with sister and neices and had applied for Regis and Kelly tiks...never got a response. Lo and behold, in my mailbox today I receive 4 tiks to the show...for next Thursday, 25th. (It%26#39;s not like I live in Brooklyn and am right around the corner) If this happened to you...would you stop everything to come see them? Here%26#39;s what would have to happen...hubby would need to take off work (he said ok) , neice would have to call in sick ;), my hubby would have to take care of our 4 kids, and neice%26#39;s baby (he said ok), we would have to come up Wednesday night because earliest bus would not get us from Reading PA to NYC in time on Thursday, stay at a hotel...and then would need to leave by 3pm Thursday to come home.
What do you think??
Is it worth it?? money, time, etc...
Aaaack!!! What would you do???
Forgot to ask...if I do this...studio is at 67th and Columbus Ave....which (nice) hotel is closest?
Aaaack!!! What would you do???
One thought for you -- while the Reading bus will not get you there in time, there is an earlier Bieber bus from Kutztown (4 AM - ugh!!) which gets tot he Port Authority at 6:45, which is plenty of time to get some breakfast and get to the show by 7:30.

Of course, if you really want to come into town the day before, I will disavow all memory of ever having told you this...
GWB,
Shhhh...I%26#39;m going to pretend that you didn%26#39;t say that ( I already knew but no need to tell dear hubby that). And, there would be no one to drop us off at Kutztown the freakish early in the am anyway. It%26#39;s not the hotel I mind ( anyone for a business expense??) , just wondering if anyone thinks this whole shebang is worth it or not???
And..is that studio on the upper west side? Which hotels can I get there?
The closest hotel to the studio is the Comfort Inn Central Park West but rooms there are impossibly small. On the Avenue, the Beacon, the Milburn would not be that far. The Salisbury wouldn%26#39;t be that far.
Only you can decide whether it%26#39;s worth the time and trouble. We don%26#39;t know how big a fan you are. Have you tried contacting them to ask if you can switch the tix for another date so you can plan properly?
NYWhiz,
Yes, I%26#39;m a fan......and I think we are going to go for it. Thanks for the hotel advice...I will try for one of the latter ones.
NYC....here I come again!!!
Anyone else ever been to the show? Got any insight??
I have never been to the show but have tried 4!!!! times!!! I don%26#39;t know what the magic strategy is to get tickets but obviously it%26#39;s not meant to be for me. I would definitely go if I could get it all arranged. Am a huge fan and watch almost daily while on the treadmill. I have written already for tickets for this summer but am not holding my breath. Last year we went and waited for hours in the standby line (Will Ferrell was there and is a personal favorite) only to get turned away after about 50 people were let in. It%26#39;ll probably be a great memory for you. Go for it!!! Let us know how it works out.
Have friends who have been and enjoyed it. From an objective point of view I would say if your husband is taking care of five kids and you want to arrive the night before ....especially the shhhh part....I%26#39;d say you really want to go:)
I have been to the show twice and enjoyed it very much both times. You don%26#39;t mention whether you have called the number on the paper you received to confirm that you want the tickets. If you haven%26#39;t done so, you need to do that immediately.
One more thing, the earlier you get there, the better your choice of seats. Those with the precious confirmation paper get in first, of course, but the early bird gets the worm...and good seating! Once you are inside and pass security, the wait is long and mostly standing...very few places to sit down.
When you are actually in the studio, keep in mind that the large cameras, microphones, etc., stay put, so don%26#39;t sit behind one of those or your view will be terrible. Regis is very good about mingling with the audience during commercial breaks, so aisle seats are terrific for photo ops with him. Have a great time!
vallonio ~ Here is another option other than the bus to get you into the city. I live in Lancaster and the way we get to the city is to drive to Trenton and hop on the NJ Transit. If you get onto www.njtransit.com it will give you all the times that the train goes from Trenton into Penn Station New York. It is $20.00 RT and the train runs every 10 - 15 minutes. Since you are so close to the PA Turnpike I just thought I would throw this out to you. ANy other questions let me know. The drive to Trenton is all highway and very easy!
Thanks for the insight everyone....Clan: yes I confirmed this morning. If the letter says doors open at 7:15am...do you think 7am would be ideal to get there? or should we go even earlier? I booked On The Ave only because hey, if I%26#39;m getting away from the kids for just one night...it should be a good one.
I think we will stick with the bus only because I am confortable with it, have done it many times.
Thanks all!
