The Time Hotel or the Novotel?

Which would you choose and why? Thanks!

The Time Hotel or the Novotel?

I am not sure which one might be better, but I have stayed at the Novotel and it was nice. It is close to everything and a block off of Times Square. I wouldn%26#39;t worry about a location factor.

The Time Hotel or the Novotel?

I know you%26#39;ve been agonizing over a hotel choice ;) What price would you be paying for either of these? The Millenium Broadway has an AAA rate of $279/night on their website. How would that compare to these 2? Whatever you decide, unless it%26#39;s the deal of the century, I%26#39;d reserve something that%26#39;s cancellable. It%26#39;s very possible you may find a special on travelzoo.com for the night you need closer to the date. ;)

Yes...it seems like every time we decide on a hotel...we second guess it and look for something else, lol. I am looking at the Grand Hyatt now...but not sure how quick the subway would be to go where we want. Plus, parking garages are another big problem. We plan to get to NYC around 10am, so we need to find a place to park the car till check in and probably throughout our stay. We want to park the car, go to Central park for a bit, stop at Cargnegie Deli for a late lunch, then go check in, then go to St Patricks Cathedral, and maybe then over to Time%26#39;s Square for a little shopping...then we want to get back to the hotel around 6 to get ready for the show...and be at the theatre around 7 for the 8pm show. So, we have been looking at the Novotel because it is right there by the theatre, so it is really centrally located to what we want to see and do. But it%26#39;s about $330 total, with taxes...then you add parking fees on top of it...and it%26#39;s over $400 just for the one night. I just hate spending that kind of money all at once on one thing.

I went to Novotel and was very happy with it.

Efficient, friendly and great location.

First, you may be able to check into the hotel before the alloted check in time. YOu can certainly give them your luggage to hold. Do you know about iconparking.com? They have garages all around town, and you can determine ahead of time what the cost will be. (Print out the price since they sometimes charge more without the printout).

As to the hotel decision, I would not want to pay that much for the Novotel when you can get the Affinia 50 for so much less. The Millenium Broadway is about the same price and I think a nicer hotel. If you don%26#39;t want to walk to the theater from the Aff. 50, take the bus or a cab. I still say make a cancellable reservation somewhere (I%26#39;d go for the Affinia 50) and wait a month or so to see if there are any specials. Just a heads up on the Aff. 50, I see a price of $209 on quikbook but it%26#39;s unclear for what size room. On the Affinia website a ';regular'; guest room is less than that and a studio suite is a bit more.

I forgot to say the Grand Hyatt is even further from the theater than the Affinia 50 (you%26#39;re seeing Wicked, yes?) so I can%26#39;t understand that option. Several of us have mentioned the idea of bidding on Priceline and you seem to have ignored or nixed that. The Grand Hyatt is a Priceline hotel and people regularly ';win'; it for $150/night or less. It%26#39;s a nice modern hotel, but imo pretty corporate.

Yeah, we%26#39;ve considered priceline, but my husband wants to know what hotel we are getting before paying. he%26#39;d rather pay more to know the hotel and exactly where it is, reviews, etc. Trust me...since we can%26#39;t seem to make up our minds, I told him I was just going to do priceline and hope for the best, lol. We%26#39;d be saving a bit of money that way...but he is a little stubburn at times. Plus, he wants me to enjoy this weekend....and is afraid of getting stuck with a not so great hotel.
