My daughter fly%26#39;s to New York on her 18th birthday in February, on a music tour with her school. I%26#39;d like to arrange a helicopter trip for her and a few friends. Can any-one recommend a good company for such a special occasion!
Thanks....

Kate,
We got back today from NYC - We flew with a company called Liberty Helicopters on W30 st (midtown). We sugest calling them on the telephone and booking a time once she is there as you can gaurentee the weather that way. Do book tho as you will miss the queues. It looks like you can buy a gift certificate online which may be worth enquiring about.

Is the link to their website. They are very good and have clear safety instructions/guidelines.
We did the ';Big Apple'; for $112 but add on the supliments and its about $130. There are some cheaper and, or expensive ones - Have a look.
Hope your daughter enjoys her trip as much as we did!

Again please use the search facility. There are hundreds of posts here about helicopters yet at least 10 new threads this week.
The answer is Liberty Helicopters - search the threads for reviews and tips
I agree to do a search but I%26#39;d say quite the opposite about Liberty helicopters. I have read a number of posts and I agree with people saying it wasn%26#39;t a great experience.
To Where to travel,
Have you experienced Liberty 1st hand? Our experience was superb. It was a quick easy way to see NYC from the sky. The safety guidelines were clear and the staff were helpfull and curteious. Couldnt fault them at all.
Im sure there may be people out there who have not had such good experiences with Liberty but ours is just one of many good experiences.
Nelou - yes I did a Liberty trip (the 12-minute one) on my most recent visit to NYC.
All three of us were underwhelmed by the experience. Not only that, but I didn%26#39;t think Liberty Helicopters were all that good in terms of their organisation, keeping us informed and information provided on the trip.
I think I%26#39;ve said several times that I found the ToTR and ESB experiences infinitely more rewarding (for a small fraction of the cost).
Liberty Helicopter.
You can book online or via your travel agent. Booking in advance is recommended.
They have no competition, and although its a good but slightly expensive trip they could do with being more friendly.
Thats a shame your visit wasnt as good as ours... maybe they have sorted themselves out since your last visit?
Compared to other helicopter sightseeing tours, in England mainly, i found Librty reasonably priced.
We did Liberty in 1998 for our honeymoon (we are back again in 2 weeks time - no helicopter trip this time tho!).
We have nothing to say but good things about the experience (I know I am 9 years out of date here!). we thought the process and the trip iteself was out of this world!
