Anyone help? I know it%26#39;s just gone but if we%26#39;re planning to come for Christmas we need to book really soon. We%26#39;ve been often before CHristmas, but really like the idea of coming over Christmas Day. The only thing is how does Christmas Day %26#39;work%26#39; in NY? I mean are there plenty of places open to eat or is it restricted? We really do fancy coming, but would hate to be stuck on the day itself! We%26#39;re also veggies so finding somewhere to eat on the big day is going to be a challenge! WE%26#39;ll be staying at the Rennaissance, I know it%26#39;s not everyone%26#39;s choice but we%26#39;ve been there a couple of other times and loved it.
ANy advise for vacation over Christmas would be appreciated. Any traditions for Christmas Eve? Husband is disabled, not in wheelchair but can%26#39;t stand for hours on end, just wanted to say this as obviously need to find suitable activities!
Christmas Day in NYC!
Since you%26#39;ve been here during the holiday season, you already know how crowded it is, especially in midtown, and how expensive everything is. I think it%26#39;s festive from Thanksgiving through the new year%26#39;s celebrations, without anything particularly more festive about the Christmas day itself.
While many things are closed for the day, you won%26#39;t have any trouble finding restaurants offering holiday dinners. After all, all those tourists need to eat! A wonderful site is www.opentable.com. It requires that you register, but is free. You will see listings for restaurants offering Christmas dinner some time after the Thanksgiving holiday. I think this past year the Christmas restaurants appeared around the first week of December. I%26#39;d say most every restaurant offers vegetarian options nowadays.
Everything I%26#39;ve heard about the Renaissance has been positive. It certainly is right in the heart of things!
